INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A suspect that prompted lockdowns at four schools Thursday morning is still at large after a chase and crash.

Lockdowns have been lifted, but the following schools were locked down for some time: School 96, Meredith Nicholson School, 3651 N. Kiel Ave.; School 109, Jonathon Jennings School, 3725 N. Kiel Ave.; Gambold Preparatory Magnet High School, 2725 N. Kiel Ave.; and Northwest High School, 5525 W. 34th St.

Officers tried to pull over a car once they realized it was stolen. According to police, it was stolen on Nov. 5. Police say the suspect fled, eventually crashed into another car.

The suspect fled from police on foot, leaving the car and a handgun behind, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officials said.

The suspect is described as a dark-skinned black man, about 160 pounds, with shoulder-length hair, last seen wearing a hoodie.
