IT company grows in Indy, creating up to 204 jobs

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - A technology company says it will expand its Indianapolis headquarters and operations and create up to 204 new jobs by 2016.

Information technology services provider Bell Techlogix said Monday it will invest $1.4 million to lease, renovate and equip a 100,000-square foot plant on the northwest side of Indianapolis by the end of October and will occupy about half of the space.

The state says it offered Bell up to $1.1 million in tax credits and $125,000 in training grants, depending on how many Indiana residents it hires. The city of Carmel also offered incentives based on the company's job creation plans. These tax credits are performance-based, meaning until Hoosiers are hired, the company is not eligible to claim incentives.

Bell currently employs about 450 people in Indianapolis and Plainfield.
