INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A 13-year-old stood before a judge Wednesday morning and admitted that he drove recklessly; causing an accident that killed his cousin.
26-year-old Juan Carrillo died in the May 29th accident. He was ejected from the SUV when it overturned on Arquette Drive on the far east side.
On Wednesday, the 13-year-old driver agreed to a plea deal. He admitted to felony criminal recklessness and a misdemeanor charge of reckless driving. But if he abides by the terms of his probation, the prosecution will drop the felony charge.
In two weeks, the judge will announce whether he accepts the plea deal and will provide the terms of his probation, which could range from serving time at the juvenile correction facility to community service.
