INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The mayor of Lawrence has made a decision on how to fix the city’s budget problems.

On Friday, the city announced it was cutting 24 EMT jobs. The decision came following weeks of debate by the mayor and the City Council on how to come up with $2 million to balance the city’s budget.

The fire department will handle all EMT duties.

The city says there will not be a disruption of service.
