INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The founder of an Indiana micro-brewery is mixing history and beer for the home of his new company.
A building once used as a bottle house by the Home Brewing Company in the early 1900s will soon be the new home of Indiana City Brewing Co.
The building, located near the intersection of Washington and Shelby Streets, has been used for storage and even a boxing gym over the last century. During its peak period in the 1900s, the Home Brewing Company complex stretched two city blocks and sent out more than 50,000 barrels of beer every year.
Indiana City Brewing Co. owner Ray Kamstra said when he learned the about the buildings history, he knew it was the perfect place to launch his micro brew.
“We looked all over the city for the perfect location this building really called out to us because of the History,”
Indiana City Brewing Company will offer both indoor and outdoor beer tasting. It is expected to open in the late spring.
