Local events honor Martin Luther King Jr.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Martin Luther King Jr. Day is Monday January 21, 2013. King was a founding member of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, led numerous marches and boycotts and won the Nobel Peace Prize. Events around the City of Indianapolis will honor the civil rights movement icon.

Join Indiana University-Purdue University of Indianapolis for an evening of dialogue and networking on January 20, 2013 for the 44th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration dinner presented by the Black Student Union with the support of the Office of Student Involvement. The featured speaker for this year is Bobby Seale who in 1966 helped found the Black Panther Party.
