Man badly hurt in shooting blames wife

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Police were questioning a wife after her husband was shot Tuesday night on the city’s northeast side.

Officers were called to an apartment complex near East 86th Street and Allisonville Road around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Dispatchers said they received several phone calls about the shooting, including one from the victim, who told police his wife had shot him.

The circumstances of the shooting weren’t immediately released. The man, 29-year-old Larz Sutherland, was shot once in the chest and once int he left arm, according to an Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department report.

Sutherland was taken to St. Vincent Hospital in critical condition.
