INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Indianapolis Metro Police say early Monday morning they found a man shivering on the ground and missing an ear.
Police responded to the scene at East 34th Street and North Gladstone Avenue and found a man lying in a gravel parking lot with a white T-shirt wrapped around his head.
The T-shirt was protecting his ear, which was missing due to what police believe was some type of blunt force trauma.
The victim was semi-conscious and was unable to tell police what had happened to him.
The man was transported to Wishard Memorial Hospital and his condition is unknown.
Police say they began to investigate the scene and found the man’s missing ear about 20 feet from where the victim was found. Also located was the victim’s cell phone and one tennis shoe, which led police to believe there was some sort of confrontation and struggle.
The victim’s ear was transported to the hospital in hopes that it could be reattached.
Police stated they began to investigate the incident further at the hospital and found $1,131 in cash on the victim and the investigation is ongoing.
