INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The father of a 6-month-old baby who died after falling off of a bed in their Indianapolis home pleaded guilty Wednesday to voluntary manslaughter and neglect charges.
Nicholas Easter was scheduled for a pre-trial hearing but instead entered his guilty plea. He will go before a judge again March 2 to learn his sentence.
Easter originally faced a murder charge in connection with the case.
Investigators said baby Nygell was in a car seat on a bed when the seat fell off. The Marion County Coroner’s office ruled the baby’s death was due to blunt force trauma.
