INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The United States Attorney announced federal firearm and counterfeit charges against an Indianapolis man on Friday.

William "Ricky" Harris, age 34, of Indianapolis was charged with illegally possessing a dozen firearms as a convicted felon, as well as with illegally possessing counterfeit materials, a release stated.

Harris filed a petition with the court on Friday asking to enter a plea of guilty to these charges.

In December, Marion County law enforcement say they searched Harris and his home, and allegedly found him to be in possession of a dozen firearms, including pistols, rifles, and shotguns.

Harris was previously convicted of maintaining a common nuisance in Marion Superior Court in March 2003, which does not allow him to possess any firearm.

The release from the U.S. Attorney states that Harris was found to be in possession of fifteen or more counterfeit gift cards.

Seized during the search of his home were gift cards, hundreds of dollars in cash, and two credit card re-encoders.

Harris faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine if he is convicted of being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to the release.

Along with the possession charges, the counterfeit charges carry a possible penalty of up to 10 years imprisonment and a $250,000 fine.
