INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Police say that a man sitting in his vehicle on I-70 refused to comply with officers when he was suffering from a medical condition.

Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department came upon the vehicle on eastbound I-70 near Rural Street and Keystone Avenue just after 7:45 p.m. Saturday.

A man in the car was experiencing a medical problem and refused to comply with officers' requests. Police say the situation appeared it could turn violent, but did not.

All lanes of I-70 eastbound were closed for a period of time but have reopened.

The man was taken to the hospital.

The Indiana Department of Transportation alerted travelers that the lanes were closed due to a traffic hazard.
