INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard’s State of the City address has been postponed and moved to 1 p.m. March 8, at the Alexander Hotel at CityWay.

The speech was originally scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday.

During a Monday morning press conference, Ballard said he decided to postpone his address due to Timothy McCormick’s funeral, which is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at Catholic Mass Service SS. Peter & Paul Cathedral, 1347 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis.

The funeral is for one of two EMT’s that died after the ambulance he was in was struck by a car on Senate Avenue and St. Clair Street. McCormick died Saturday. The other EMT, Cody Medley, died on Sunday.

This is the second time in three years that Ballard has postponed the address. The first time was in 2011 following the shooting of Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Officer David Moore.
