INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - One person is dead Thursday night after a car and motorcycle crashed near Emerson and Southeastern avenues.
The accident was reported just after 10 p.m. Thursday. Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said the motorcyclist was taken in critical condition to Wishard Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police said they don't believe the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
The name of the deceased has been withheld until his family has been notified.
Investigators believe a gold Jetta Volkswagon was stopped in traffic when the motorcycle ran into the back of it.
Investigators said they don't believe alcohol was a factor in the collision.
