INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Indianapolis travelers have a new option if they want to get to Myrtle Beach, S.C., quickly. Vision Airlines started a nonstop service between the two cities Friday.
The time difference? Flying nonstop gets you there in one hour, 45 minutes. Driving there takes 12 hours.
Kristen Moss and her family are happy about the news.
"It's a wonderful thing,” she said. “We were thrilled to hear about it. We vacation there usually once a year and meet family down there."
The price is right too. Most flights range from $99 to $149.
The jet is roomy. It's geared for golfers and families.
Clay Meeks, of Vision, said passengers will appreciate the roominess.
"It's a big jet, a 737. It carries 130 to 150 passengers. It's nonstop, it's low-fare and it is a leisure destination," Meeks said.
Vision has been around for 18 years, starting with trips from Vegas to the Grand Canyon. Most of the company's planes are 737s. The airline also has 767s for international flights.
Meeks said the service between Indianapolis and Myrtle Beach will extend through the fall.
The best deal is this month. Vision is charging just $29 for a one-way ticket in June.
Departures are on Fridays are at 7:05 p.m.. The return trip is on Mondays. It arrives at Indianapolis International at 6:20 p.m.
