INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Wishard Hospital held a ceremony Thursday morning to mark the start of the physical demolition process that will make way for a new hospital.
The Larue Carter building on West 10th Street is one of two vacant buildings.
In the months to follow, workers will take it apart in chunks.
The psychiatric hospital was built in 1952 and moved to its current facility on Cold Spring Road in 1996.
Demolition was rescheduled from earlier in the week because of the weather.
