INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - A group of Indiana and NFL labor leaders plan to protest the possible layoffs of hotel workers at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Indianapolis.

NFL Players Association executive director DeMaurice Smith plans to join the protest Friday a few blocks from where the Super Bowl will be played in downtown Indianapolis on Sunday. The Hyatt has been the target of ongoing union protests in Indianapolis.

Protesters are asking the Hyatt to hire 20 longtime hotel workers who may be out of jobs when the hotel ends a subcontract with Hospitality Staffing Solutions. The hotel's general manager told The Indianapolis Star earlier this week that the workers would not automatically be laid off when the HSS contract ends a few days after the Super Bowl.
