INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The evidentiary hearing for the woman accused of taking rat poison while pregnant continues.
Bei Bei Shuai was 33 weeks pregnant when officials say she took the rat poison. Her child was born alive but died three days later. She’s now facing murder and feticide charges.
Shuai’s hearing began on Tuesday. It was to determine whether she’d be given the opportunity to bond out of jail. The hearing lasted much of Tuesday and continued on Wednesday. The court will not decide whether to release Shuai on bond until the presentation of evidence is complete.
She will appear again in court on April 13.
