INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The Indianapolis division of Homeland Security monitors 110 cameras along the Monon Trail.
Currently four of those cameras are broken. The division would not release where those cameras are located.
24-Hour News 8 asked Homeland Security when the cameras would be repaired, and they had no specific timeline.
Questions arose about the cameras after a man was attacked on the Monon Trail Sunday afternoon.
Two people monitor the cameras each day for 20 hours. However, we are learning there are four hours when no one is watching.
The Homeland Security workers in charge of reviewing the video are in touch with police and can contact dispatch if a crime is spotted on tape.
The video recorded is kept for 30 days unless the video is requested for a criminal investigation.
