INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A man found inside his burning north side Indianapolis home Wednesday has died from his injuries some time overnight.
Shortly after 4 p.m. firefighters were called to a residence fire in the 7500 block of Brackenwood Circle.
When firefighters arrived they found flames through the roof and out all the windows of the one story home.
Neighbors reported a man in his mid to late 60s lived in the home alone. One male was located by search teams 10 feet from the south door of the home.
He was taken to St. Vincent Hospital unconscious and in critical condition with burns and smoke inhalation. Authorities offered no further information on the victim, including his name.
The fire damage is estimated at $100,000.
Investigators say the blaze started in a front office area of the home. Electrical causes have not been ruled out.
