INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Several shots rang out on the city’s west side Tuesday morning when a man opened fire on an off-duty airport police officer in the 4000 block of Cossell road, near the intersection of Holt and Michigan Streets.
Police say the victim was getting out of his truck around 12:20 a.m. when the suspects, in a Chevy truck, fired two shots at him.
The off-duty officer pulled out his weapon and fired three shots back at the truck. Police say he wasn't sure if he hit any of the suspects or their truck.
Investigators have recovered five shell casings at the scene.
There were no reports of any injuries.
