INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - An officer had to be checked out at the hospital Wednesday night after an explosive device went off.
Four small explosive devices were found on East Legrande Avenue just off of South Meridian Street.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department was called to the scene on reports of shots fired. Police say they found four "pressurized devices" made from soda bottles.
One went off close to an officer, who was taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital as a precautionary measure to be checked out.
Police believe the devices were thrown from one home, at another.
Two of the devices exploded and two more were rendered safe.
Police are now searching for the group of kids who were in that area.
The IMPD Bomb Squad was called in addition to Marion County Public Health.
