LAWRENCE, Ind. (WISH) - Paramedics, police officers and sheriff’s deputies gathered at the Lawrence City Hall Friday evening to be honored for their role in saving the life of Officer Matt Fox.
Fox was shot while pulling over a driver on July 27.
Friday night, Officer Fox formally thanked the women and men who saved his life.
“I think a lot of people, like you said, take people for granted,” Fox said. “People are always worried and praying for the military overseas fighting their wars. I think people sometimes forget, we're your soldiers here on the home front fighting to keep you protected from enemies and dangers.”
Officer Fox returned to work this past week.
