INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A Perry Township school bus accident Tuesday evening on the city’s south side injured one child, school officials said.

The accident happened just after 5 p.m. at Madison and Castle avenues. Perry Township schools spokeswoman Paula Clegg said a car hit the bus as it made a left turn onto Castle Avenue.

The bus was carrying 15 children coming from Abraham Lincoln Elementary School. One child was taken to Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health, Clegg said. The rest of the children were transferred to other buses and headed home.
