INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - One person needed to be extricated from a vehicle Saturday evening after an accident took place north of 30th and Illinois streets.
Witnesses at the scene say a car was heading northbound on Illinois St., drifted to the center of the line and cut off a car next to it.
The car left the roadway, hitting a tree, and returned back to the street.
Officers say the passenger, Terri Moore-Winegar, grabbed the wheel when the driver, Kyle Winegar, began coughing.
The accident happened near The Children's Museum of Indianapolis.
Crews needed to extricate Moore-Winegar. Both were taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital.
