1 sent to hospital after truck crashes into tree

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Officials say one person was sent to the hospital after a serious accident near Garfield Park Monday morning.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department says a truck was traveling southbound on Shelby Street and lost control. The truck veered off the road to the right, crashed into a tree, and knocked over a light pole.
The street light fell into the street, closing Shelby Street in both directions between Bradbury and Tinley.
Two people were in the car at the time of the hospital. One person was up and walking following the crash. The passenger, however, was trapped inside the vehicle for sometime. Officials extricated the person from the truck and they were transported to Methodist Hospital.
