HENDRICKS COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - One person has died as a result of injuries suffered in a 40-car pileup Thursday afternoon along I-70 in Hendricks County.
Friday morning, Indiana State Police Capt. Dave Bursten identified the victim as Harry Sohal, 25, of Ontario, Canada.
The man died died shortly after 11 p.m Thursday at IU Health Methodist Hospital, Bursten said.
Indiana State Police officials said Friday morning that Sohal was in a sleeper cab of one of the semis at the time of the crash on I-70 westbound and his father, Satpal, was behind the wheel.
According to an ISP release, there were 23 semis and 17 vehicles involved in the various crashes on I-70 on east and westbound lanes. Ten people were injured and taken from the scene to Wishard, IU Health West and Hendricks Regional Health.
The crash remains under investigation and will take several more days to complete.
