INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The number is 370 volunteers and counting for the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini Marathon.

When people at OneAmerica got to work Tuesday, they walked through the door and through the finish line, met with medals and fruit.

Since 2005, OneAmerica has been the title sponsor of the Mini Marathon and has committed to filling roughly one out of every five volunteer positions.

When recruiting volunteers, its all about enthusiasm and experience.

“People that come back - who know the needs of the participants and who know the needs of those visiting the city - really helps the event flow smoothly and give everyone a great sense of community as well,” said Jim Freeman, chairman of the Mini Marathon Steering Committee:

The aim is to get 600 OneAmerica volunteers to help with the Mini, which this year is on May 4.
