INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Karen Binegar’s grandson is back home and resting. On Thursday, her 3-year-old grandson Connor was at Garfield Park Pool. A mixture of chemicals forced children and to leave the south side pool throwing up and coughing heavily.

“When she said their eyes were swollen and they were vomiting I knew something was going on with the chemicals,” said Binegar.

One of those children was Connor, who was rushed to the hospital and listed in serious condition.

On Friday afternoon doctors upgraded the boy’s condition and he was released from the hospital.

“He is doing better this morning and he has color back,” said Binegar

Some parents whose children were involved in the pool incident are threatening to file a lawsuit against the city of Indianapolis. Binegar says she hasn’t thought about a lawsuit she just wants to focus on spending time with her grandson.

Health inspectors revisited the pool on Friday. Parents are still uneasy by what happened and they are looking for concrete answers to what happened.

“I’m hoping it’s just a careless mistake, said Binegar.
