Man fatally shot on city's west side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Police are investigating a death on the city's west side.
The victim spent the final moments of his life in the driveway of a home on the 1900 block of North Exeter Avenue.
Police did not say where the shooting happened. Neighbors identified the man police took into custody as the homeowner.
He is being called a person on interest. This all unfolded around 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
Friends say the man who was taken in for questioning carried a gun everyday for protection after someone in the neighborhood tried to burglarize his home.
The victim has only been identified as a white male.
Neighbors also say the person of interest started moving today. Friends were in town helping him move to another home.
