INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Indianapolis has a new Platform for change that organizers hope will spur revitalization.
That’s what LISC, an organization promoting the transformation of distressed communities into healthy ones by way of resident-led development, is calling its hub at the City Market, which opened Thursday.
The Platform – a “next-generation neighborhood revitalization center” and home to non-profit and social entrepreneurship organizations – fills 14,000 square feet in the west wing of City Market, a space that had been so difficult for the city to fill that demolition had been considered, LISC said.
Organizations housed at The Platform include:
LISC said Ball State University and the American Institute of Architects will also have a presence, along with many other people and organizations.
The Platform will also serve as a flexible meeting and event space for neighborhood and community organizations.
