Man facing charges in Fla. arrested

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Indianapolis police have arrested a man in Indianapolis who was wanted in Florida on a theft charge.

Kirk Angelocci, the owner of Mickeys Plumbing in West Palm Beach, Fla. is upset.

Angelocci says Joseph Pagan, a former employee, stole a sewer camera from his shop valued at around $8,000.

"I totally trusted this guy," Angelocci said. "I helped him out. I even hired his wife because they were hurting for money then he does this to me. It's just really hard to handle."

Theft charges were filed but Angelocci says it took Florida prosecutors six months to issue a warrant for Pagan's arrest. During that time, Pagan left Florida.

Angelocci tracked Pagan to an west side neighborhood. What he did next may sound extreme.

He sent every one of Pagan's neighbors a reward flier. Angelocci says he received several calls but saw no action from police.

"I was ready to just pull my hair out," he said. "I did all the work. I told them where he was at all they had to do was send a car,"

Angelocci shared his story with the CBS station in West Palm Beach who asked for help from 24-Hours News 8.

24-Hour News 8 reporter John LaBerge confronted Pagan at the Indianapolis home where he's been staying with his wife and children.  He said he was aware of the flier but denied the allegations of theft.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office received a request from police in Florida to arrest Pagan.  He was arrested Wednesday afternoon.

He will be returned to Florida to face charges.

Pagan's Indianapolis family reached out to 24-Hour News 8 after our story aired.  His aunt says she's surprised he was picked up because she says the family was working with police in Florida to turn himself in to fight the charge.
