INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The Indiana State Police found open containers of alcohol inside a vehicle involved in a fatal accident Friday night.

Investigation shows 70-year-old Jessie Stewart was driving a 1999 Mercury Mountaineer westbound on I-70 when he made an abrupt left turn, crossed all westbound lanes, and ran head on into a concrete dividing wall.

Stewart was taken to Wishard Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Responding officers found open alcohol beverage containers inside the car and believe alcohol may be a factor in this accident.

This incident occurred near the 84 mile marker just after 7 p.m. Friday night.
