INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Homicide unit arrived to the scene of a person dead in a west side home just before 5 a.m. Wednesday.

Police were called to the 1700 block of West Maryland Street and say they had to make a forced entry to a bedroom at the back of the home due to clutter.

The initial call to the home was to a person shot.

An officer at the scene said they are investigating the death of a male found in the home.
