INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Detectives continued investigating Sunday what appears to be a murder-suicide.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to the 10000 block of Courageous Drive around 3:30 a.m. Sunday on the report of a person shot.
When officers arrived, they found 50-year-old Derek Tully inside the home suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
Officers found a second man, 48-year-old John Caffrey, outside of the home, suffering from a single gunshot wound. He was also pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
Investigators believe that the two victims have been mutual friends for a long time and they may have been involved in an on-going dispute.
Detectives believe that Caffrey entered Tully's home and shot him. They believe Caffrey left the house and then shot himself. Officers found the weapon at the scene and are continuing to talk to witnesses.
Both men are from Indianapolis.
