INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Police officials have identified the person who was found dead Monday morning in a home on the near north side of Indianapolis.
Detectives have identified the victim as 36-year-old Charles Spurlock of Indianapolis.
Emergency crews were called to the 1900 block of Ruckle Street, near 20th Street and College Avenue, just after 6 a.m. Monday, after several reports of shots fired in the area.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said a 36-year-old black male was found dead in an apartment above a garage off an alley near Ruckle Street. Several shell casings were found at the scene.
Detectives have ruled that Spurlock was shot several times behind his home in an ambush style attack.
Police are calling this a homicide investigation.
