INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the public's help in finding a vehicle suspected of critically wounding a teen.
Police say they were called to the 2500 block of Westlane Road around 6:15 p.m. on a report of a person struck by a vehicle. When police arrived on scene, they found a 13-year-old girl lying in the parking lot and suffering from critical injuries.
The girl was transported to Riley Hospital for Children. She has been identified as Karmyn Jones of Indianapolis. Jones has since been released from the hospital.
IMPD detectives have determined Jones was struck by a vehicle, and that the vehicle fled the scene after the incident.
Officers are currently searching for a 1992-1999 white Chevy Suburban with the letter "W" in the license plate. Police believe a black man was driving the vehicle.
Anyone with information on this vehicle or the person driving is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-8477.
