INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Investigators spent Monday reviewing details in a deadly crash that took the lives of two medics — Cody Medley and Tim McCormick.
Detectives for Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department have been tied up all day, according to a department spokesman.
According to police reports, Jade Hammer crashed her Honda into the ambulance that carried Medley and McCormick.
An officer on the scene stated Hammer made several statements, including, “Oh my God, I can’t believe I was in this accident.”
According to a police report, Hammer told investigators she had consumed 1 1/2 mixed drinks that she described as being light.
Hammer agreed to a blood draw to test her blood alcohol limit. She was later treated and released from hospital.
The 21-year-old told police she recently moved here from Florida. Hammer has not been charged with any crime.
The Marion County prosecutor’s office was closed for Presidents Day on Monday. There was no word on whether prosecutors would file charges against Hammer.
No one answered the door at Hammer's home Monday afternoon.
