Project to boost downtown business

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - CityWay is a 14-acre project near Banker’s Life Fieldhouse that will be home to a luxury hotel, luxury apartments, Mediterranean restaurant and shopping.

It’s bordered by Delaware Street to the West, Alabama Street to the east, South Street to the south and the railroad tracks near BankersLife Fieldhouse to the north.

Monday morning, Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard and developers will be on site as construction crews put the tallest beam on the project.

Developers say this location was picked because of its close proximity to business to the south, like Eli Lilly and Rolls Royce, and downtown to the north. They hope CityWay will bridge the gap between the two.

The project’s 250 luxury apartments will be completed in October 2012.

Construction on the 209-room Alexander Hotel will be completed in December 2012.
