INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The Department of Public Safety has entered a new 10-year contract with InterAct Public Safety Solutions.

The new deal replaces the department's 21-year-old Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system.

Experts say the program will enhance public safety agencies in Marion and Hendricks counties by improving resources.

“They have seen the product. They like it,” said Chief Tim Baughman with Indianapolis Public Safety. “It will be on the same screen and same consul that they have – just a slight change on what they see on the format. They are excited about the new technology.”

It's estimated it will take 18 – 20 months before the system is fully integrated.
