INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Heavy rains have washed out a bridge on Keystone Avenue on the north side.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police had already closed the road due to flooding, and no injuries were reported.
The northbound bridge near Woodfield Crossing Boulevard, north of 80th Street, will be closed indefinitely, the Indianapolis Department of Public Works said Monday afternoon.
DPW has determined a detour as follows: From northbound Keystone Avenue, east on 71st Street to Allisonville Road, north to 82nd Street, west back to Keystone Avenue. Signage will be placed soon, DPW said Monday afternoon.
The detour will be in place until bridge design and repair can be completed. Design work will begin immediately, DPW said.
