INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The weather has stranded dozens of travelers at the Greyhound bus station in downtown Indianapolis.
It’ll be a long night for them, because they say Greyhound has told them the buses won’t be rolling again until at least Friday morning.
Greyhound is giving food vouchers to the stranded travelers, and they’re getting some help from the Red Cross, too.
There are people in the bus station from as far away as Florida who were hoping to hit the road today.
The American Red Cross of Indianapolis has brought blankets and cots to the terminal so those who are stranded can find a little more comfort Thursday night.
24-Hour News 8 spoke with a woman who arrived at the bus station
at 1:30 p.m., thinking she’d be in Valparaiso just hours
later. That’s not going to happen.
“Well, actually I thought maybe they would change their
mind about the buses leaving,” said Sharon Hill. “But
no, they just said that everything is final. So we just have to sit
until tomorrow morning and we might not be able to leave tomorrow
if the weather doesn’t change. So I’m just kind of
praying and waiting.”
Greyhound also said it is offering the stranded travelers the opportunity to book hotel rooms at a discounted rate.
