INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Incoming Indiana School Superintendent Glenda Ritz has named a former aide to late Gov. Frank O'Bannon to be her chief of staff.
Ritz this week selected Craig Hartzer for the post. She says he has the leadership experience, knowledge of government, and dedication that will be instrumental in managing her administration.
Hartzer has more than 20 years of experience at the local and state levels of government. He served as a policy director, commissioner of workforce development and executive director of the Public Employee Retirement Fund for O'Bannon. He also served as a deputy mayor for the city of South Bend. Recently, Hartzer has directed the executive education program in the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University.
