INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A Marion County Sheriff’s Department employee was fired Monday after being arrested in southern Indiana on charges of trafficking with an inmate.

Natasha Fogleman, 29, had been employed with the department's communications division for about a year. She was arrested Friday at the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility in Sullivan County and preliminarily charged with two counts of trafficking with an inmate, one a Class C felony and the other a Class A misdemeanor. She was being held in the Sullivan County Jail.

“Trafficking with an inmate is a very serious offense. Being responsible for Indiana’s largest jail, I’m disappointed that our former civilian employee attempted to jeopardize the safety of another penal institution,” said Marion County Sheriff John Layton. “I wholly support the authority of Sullivan County, and will provide any assistance that they might require in this matter.”
