INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Indianapolis Metropolitan police officers are investigating a shooting early Monday morning on the city's west side.
Shortly after 2:30 a.m., police were called to the Carriage House West Apartments near West 10th and Interstate 465 on a report of a person shot. Detectives recovered a 40 caliber Glock handgun and several shell casings near the scene in the 5600 block of Whitcomb Avenue.
No victim was found at the scene, but shortly after 3 a.m., a man with a gunshot wound on his back showed up at the IU Methodist Hospital Emergency Room. The unidentified shooting victim is reported to be in stable condition.
Police say they are still looking into the circumstances of the shooting.
