INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Walmart and The Salvation Army teamed up Saturday to “Fill the Truck” at Indiana Walmart locations.

The event was held to provide new toys and coats to local children as part of the 122nd Annual Red Kettle Campaign.

The event was open to the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Shoppers received a list of suggested gifts they could place in a truck or collection bin at Walmart locations.

The collection was expected to provide gifts to more than 800 families.

The Walmart Foundation made a $1 million donation to The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign this year.

For those who were unable to make a donation Saturday, the WISH-TV and MyINDY-TV family will be collecting toys outside Lucas Stadium before the Colts game on Sunday, Dec. 9.

New unwrapped toys can be brought to the game that day and deposited with the WISH-TV and Salvation Army staffs located outside at all of the stadium entrances
