Snow's coming. Need free sidewalk salt?

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Even though temperatures will continue to be unseasonably warm this weekend, snow could be on its way early next week, and with it slick conditions. One Indianapolis hospital is hoping to prevent some falls with a sidewalk salt giveaway.

On Saturday, volunteers will bag up several truckloads of road salt, part of St. Vincent Hospital’s 20th annual ERase events, which aim to prevent the number of emergency room visits related to falls on ice during winter.

Starting at 9, while volunteers bag salt, there will be refreshments and door prize drawings. Starting at noon, residents can pick up bags of salt by driving up to the St. Vincent emergency department.
