INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Rick Hite will be named police chief for Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department on Thursday, sources tell 24-Hour News 8.
Hite has been interim chief for the department, following the departure of Paul Ciesielski in the wake of the handling of the Davis Bisard case .
Hite was appointed interim chief in April. Since then, Hite had to get his certification to be an police officer in Indiana.
He served 30 years with the Baltimore Police Department, and has served as the assistant of the Indianapolis Public Safety Department.
