INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The northbound lane of Meridian Street just south of Troy Avenue will be closed until noon Friday because of an overnight water main break.

The break was reporter shortly before 4 a.m.

Water gushed from the break and pushed up a large section of the road on Meridian St.

Folks who live in the area told a 24-Hour News 8 crew that they have very little to no water pressure.

Citizens Water has several crews on the scene trying to stop the flow of water before beginning to repair the break. The road will need to be torn up in order to fix the break.

Water in the area will be shut off for three to four hours. The northbound lane will be closed until about noon.

IMPD is also on the scene helping to direct traffic around the area.

Check back with WISH-TV for updates throughout the morning.
