INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A south side Indianapolis resident was injured in a house fire Sunday night.
Shortly after 10 p.m., Holly Wyss said she awoke to a house filled with smoke. She got her pet dog and left the house immediately.
Wyss called 911 but was experiencing some difficulty breathing after inhaling smoke from the house. Medics transported her to St. Francis South Hospital in stable condition.
Forteen fire units arrived and put the fire out within 30 minutes. The fire was contained to the kitchen where firefighters believe the the blaze began.
Damage to the home is estimated at $60,000.
