INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - St. Patrick’s Day celebrations are under way downtown and will continue through Sunday.
Live music and green beer are among the holiday festivities on the Georgia Street Boardwalk at the first annual St. Patrick’s Day Blarney Bash by Killian’s.
The event opened at noon and will run until midnight. Guests can enjoy the festive green beer, food and live music throughout the day.
Before the bash began, runners gathered on Monument Circle for the 22nd Annual Shamrock Run / Walk. Following the run was ShamRockin’ the Circle, where visitors could enjoy traditional Irish food, drinks and music.
The Indiana State Museum also held a green event. Curbside Recycling at the Going Green Festival collected electronic waste and other recyclables so that they may be disposed of safely and cleanly, according to a release.
Below is information on traffic that will be affected Saturday and Sunday:
Saturday, March 16, noon – midnight
Both lanes of Georgia Street from Meridian Street to Pennsylvania Street will be closed. Pennsylvania Street from Maryland Street to South Street will also be closed.
Sunday, March 17, noon – 6 p.m.:
Both lanes of Georgia Street from Meridian Street to Pennsylvania Street will be closed.
